Re-Engaging, Re-Energizing, and Re-Launching

Flo Rogers, Leadership Las Vegas Council Chair, Class of 2004

2014 is an exciting time for your Las Vegas Metro Chamber of Commerce. With a move to The Smith Center in the works, we’ll be at the center of the energy Downtown, and as that is underway for later this year. We’re proud to say we’ve been working on another little construction project – an all new site that’s home to all things Leadership Las Vegas. Under the visionary guidance of John Osborn, the Leadership programs of the Metro Chamber are planning to expand its offerings in the next few months. With more than 1,200 graduates from our prestigious Leadership Las Vegas program, there will be more opportunities to re-engage as Alumni in creating that indelible experience for up-and-coming professionals in our region. There will be a new offering – Leadership Advance – to develop leadership skills for those moving up in management or civic responsibility. We will also re-launch the Focus program, providing new executives with a quick, but deep dive into sectors of our community that shape Southern Nevada.

In the ten years since I graduated from Leadership Las Vegas, I’ve seen my colleagues and leaders face head-on the worst that the economy could put us through. We’re starting to emerge with a clearer vision for where we’re going, we’ve learned a lot from those who didn’t shrink from telling us the bad news, and we’ve started seeing investments from the kind of businesses we’ve hoped would come. I’ve seen my peers step up and join non-profits and re-commit to the place we call home.

So if you’ve been focused solely on taking care of keeping your business vital in the last few years, I want to invite you to explore this site and get reacquainted with Leadership Las Vegas – what we’ve always been and what we will be in the near future: a resource to build a great community to work, live and raise our families.

This is the site to update your Alumni Database listing so we can connect with you, put your name down for a committee (or cocktail at an Alumni event!), and share with prospective participants who will be the future Leadership classes.

Please be in touch and we promise to do the same.
